The town of art and history, Briançon, fortified by Vauban in the crossroad of five valleys, each offering plenty of walks, tourist attractions, climbing spots, rivers for rafting and canoeing, famous mountain passes, etc.
The old town is definately worth a visit, with its small cobbles streets, its fountains, its gargouilles, its 15th century church “Cordeliers” and 18th century Collegiate church “Notre Dame” and not forgetting its fortresses.
